Description: sku5 was isolated from the Versailles collection of T-DNA insertion lines derived from a plasmid carrying neomycin phosphotransferase as the selectable marker (Bouchez, D.et al. A binary vector based on basta resistance for in planta transformation of Arabidopsis thaliana. C. R. Acad. Sci. Ser. III 316, 1188-1193, 1993); kanamycin resistant.

Phenotype
Altered pattern of root growth as a result of defective directional cell expansion. Roots and etiolated hypocotyls are slightly shorter than normal and exhibit a counterclockwise (left-handed) axial rotation bias. Root growth on inclined hard agar surfaces is left skewed and looped away from the normal downward direction of growth. No visible shoot phenotype.
